Accordions in Books- Margery Allingham

Very occasionally, there will be mention of an accordion in some novel or work of literature. In the short story, "The Meaning of the Act," by Margery Allingham, and featuring her detective Albert Campion, he and a friend are attending a theater production.

"‘A whizz-boy,’ said Campion modestly, ‘i.e., pickpocket. The most skilful practitioner in the country. Don’t raise your voice, old man. Listen to the pretty accordion player.’"

Albert Campion as portrayed by Peter Davison in the BBC series of his stories.
